Job Summary/Basic Function

The Associate Director of Employer and Student Services provides career development and job search support to students and recent graduates and is responsible for the administration, planning, development, execution, and provision of multi-faceted career-related services at Liberty University School of Law. Additionally, the Associate Director is responsible for assisting the Director of Employer and Student Services with developing and maintaining relationships with prospective employers at a local, regional and national level to build a portfolio of employment, internship and externship opportunities for students and alumni while also increasing the visibility of the LUSOL “brand” to existing and prospective employers.

Minimum Qualifications

JD from an ABA accredited law school. Must be licensed to practice law (active or associate) and a member of state bar in good standing. Minimum of two to four years of experience in the practice of law. Experience in legal career services or similar career related experiences preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

 Knowledge of the programs offered at Liberty University School of Law and an understanding of the law school’s mission
 Knowledge of legal community and ability to interact with attorneys and legal professionals from multiple sectors
 Knowledge of various career paths for lawyers in both the public and private sector
 Knowledge of essential principles of legal professional conduct
 Knowledge of word processing database, and CRM applications
 Excellent interpersonal and counseling skills
 Excellent oral and written communication skills
 Excellent observation, assessment, organizational, and analytical skills
 Ability to generate a positive, professional first impression
 Ability to establish and maintain professional rapport in all communications
 Ability to maintain confidentiality and to exercise discretion
 Ability to convey the vision, mission, and intellectual rigor of the law program
 Ability to keep supervisors properly informed and to report significant work activity and developments
 Ability to build and sustain professional relationships between the School of Law and key external audiences that include the bench and the bar
 Ability to work independently while maintaining strong team orientation and ethics
